But the good news for his heartbroken fans is that he has already secured himself a huge Hollywood gig!

The former Summer Bay hottie has signed up with Paramount Pictures to star opposite Tina Fey and Margot Robbie in a movie based on Kim Barker’s wartime memoir Taliban Shuffle.

While Tina will play journalist and self-confessed adrenaline junkie, Steve has been cast in the role of her alpha-male Kiwi bodygaurd who has a crush on her, Deadline reports.

Meanwhile, fellow Aussie Marogot Robbie has also signed on to star in the film.

While the 33-year-old will remain on our screens as his character Darryl “Brax” Braxton until the end of the year, he has said he is leaving the show to pursue Hollywood.

“It wasn’t something I was looking forward to because I love the show and the people I work with so much,” he told the Daily Telegraph.

“But I think the key to any good TV series or any good storytelling is to leave the audience at the right point, and where we got to with Brax, we hit a point where it was the best point for him to exit the show. It was just the perfect time I guess.”

Steve is set to star alongside Tina Fey and fellow Aussie Margot Robbie.

Steve has already had a taste of Hollywood starring in Hercules last year and is taking his new wife Bridgette Sneedon along with him.

The pair met while at university together before eventually both landing roles on Home and Away, making them one of Summer Bay’s cutest real-life couples.
