It’s been nearly four decades (!!) since Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta starred in the cult classic musical: Grease.

But it looks as if everybody’s favourite Pink Lady and Greaser may yet return to the halls of Rydell High…

Before taking home the ‘Icon Award’ at the Fame Awards in Las Vegas earlier this week, Olivia herself admitted that she and her two-time costar had been thinking up ideas to mark the film’s 40th birthday next year.

“We are thinking up ways. Nothing to announce yet,” she said.

“Forty years anniversary of Grease, which I can’t believe. Time goes so fast. It is so exciting.”

“Every year for the last 20 years, I thought I was retiring and then somebody would say, ‘How about this?’ and it’s like, ‘Oh, that looks fun,’ or ‘How about this?’ Things that I would never think about,” the 68-year-old Aussie-native added.

We can’t wait to see the iconic pair back in action – after all, they go together like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong!

Can you imagine?!

All we can say is… bring on 2018!

In the final months of 2016, a viral fan theory suggested that we’ve all been watching the iconic film incorrectly.

According to people on Reddit, the entire movie is a fantasy played out in Sandra Dee’s head because, wait for it… she’s DEAD!

Grease Sandy and Danny

Could it be true or just completely bonkers?

In the film’s iconic song “Summer Nights”, Danny sang “I saved her life” and “she nearly drowned”. But according to the theory, Sandy did in fact drown and die, and the entire movie is just a dream.

The final scene in the 1978 movie is used to back the theory. The scene showed Sandy and Danny fly away in a red convertible, which would be impossible if it weren’t a dream.

The fan wrote, “As she drowned, her brain deprived of oxygen, she had a vivid coma fantasy involving her summer fling, Danny, where they shared a magical year of high school together.”

Crazy or believable? It’s over to you…
