Michael Buble has reportedly pulled out of hosting The Brit Awards, which will take place in London on February 22nd, while his three-year-old son Noah battles liver cancer.
“It was a difficult call but Michael has decided to pull out of hosting the Brit Awards,” a source explained to The Sun.
“Out of respect for Michael the producers gave him as much time as he needed to make the decision, which they completely understood.”
Although he was looking forward to the hosting gig, the health of his young son trumps everything.
“He would have put a unique stamp on the night so it’s a real shame, but at the moment his priority is his family.”
“They are exploring other options now about who will take his place and a number of people have thrown their hat in the ring,” the insider explained to the publication.
Michael is yet to comment on the report however in October, before his world was turned upside down with Noah’s diagnosis, he took to Instagram to express his excitement.
“Soooo …… ummm …. yeah . I’m frickin’ hosting the @brits !! I’ve got some big shoes to fill,” the Canadian singer mused.
Meanwhile Noah has begun his chemotherapy treatment and according to the Argentinian press, it will be carried out for four months.
In November, Michael and his wife Luisana Lopilato, who also share 11-month-old son Elias, made the heartbreaking announcement their oldest child was ill.
“We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US. We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children,” Michel wrote on his Facebook page.
