Well it looks like all our Disney prayers have finally been answered. The cult-classic Princess Diaries is coming back for a third installment, according to the film’s first lady (and complete legend), Julie Andrews.
“There’s talk about it,” she told Buzzfeed recently.
“And [Anne]’s very keen to do it. I would very willingly and happily do it.”
We can’t wait to see Queen Clarisse Renaldi and Princess Mia Thermopolis on our screens again
But guys, we’ve been hurt before…
Last year director of the first two Princess Diaries films, Garry Marshall, confirmed he was in talks with Disney to get the show on the road.
Tragically, Garry died unexpectedly soon after his announcement, crushing fans’ hopes of the third movie being made.
But now Julie says she and Anne – aka the Genovia royal family – want to pay homage to their former director and think carrying on with the third movie would be the best way to do that.
“I think we might do it in honour of him,” Julie adds. “Annie had an idea that she wanted to pursue about it, and I’m all for it.”
