And so the Bond Bad News Machine keeps on spitting out obstacles. With no official confirmation – which is hardly surprising – the stories about delays and issues with the 25th outing just continue to pile up.
While we wait on the release of the next Bond film we have a plethora of other stories about the dashing espionage agent to peruse. Watch the video above to see different portrayals of James Bond.
On the heels of reports that the script is an ever-evolving beast as the cameras roll, now there is word that production will be delayed because star Daniel Craig has fallen and injured his ankle.
The Guardian picked up reports from The Sun that Craig was shooting in Jamaica when he slipped and fell during an action sequence.
The subsequent ankle injury saw him flown to the States for treatment. Though the cast and crew had been scheduled to head to Pinewood in London for the next section of filming, that has now been delayed pending Craig’s return.
Turns out that Craig will be undergoing minor surgery on his injured ankle and will require two weeks rehabilitation following the procedure. But thanks to the expansive nature of the production, led by director Cary Fukunaga, the work can continue in his absence.
The last time on set however Craig was spotted having heavy discussions with Fukanaga and hopefully those issues are resolved as well so the filming continues smoothly here on out and sources say that Craig seemed very frustrated prior to getting injured.
This isn’t the first time Craig has gotten injured while filming scenes as James Bond. Chief stunt coordinator for Quantum of Solace and Casino Royale, Gary Powell told The Guardian, “He gets his hands very dirty. Daniel puts the work in, even if it’s something he’s not keen on.”
Despite the delay, it’s not currently thought that it’ll be enough to push the release date back, which will no doubt have the producers breathing a sigh of relief.
James Bond is notorious for driving flashy cars as well as wearing flashy suits. Watch this video to see the evolution of his ride. Story continues after video.
Bond 25, still on the hunt for an official title, aside from having Fukunaga in the director’s chair, also has Lea Seydoux, Ana de Armas, Naomie Harris, Lashana Lynch, Rami Malek, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw among its cast.
