In a Marvel first, a female-led superhero flick is set to grace our screens, and the actors have given us the low-down on all things Captain Marvel.
In the new issue of Empire, we go on set of to talk with Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson and Australia’s own Ben ‘Mendo’ Mendelsohn to get the details on the MCU’s most powerful character before she (we’re guessing) shows up again in next month’s Avengers: Infinity War.
Speaking of flying baddie battlers, Empire also chatted to director Richard Donner about the godfather of the modern comic-book film, Superman: The Movie.
Donner spilled on working with Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder and Gene Hackman and the difficult making of the film (which included talking Marlon Brando out of playing Jor-El as, er, a bagel).

The new issue also includes in-depth interviews with Keira Knightley (who incidentally, swears a lot), Kenneth Branagh (he really loves Shakespeare!) and Dolph Lundgren (apparently used to carry a gun while dating Grace Jones!?).
Our 30th anniversary celebrations also continue as Empire looks at the fine work of Baby Driver director Edgar Wright AND take a look at cult ’80s fantasy flick Dragonslayer, which went on to influence Game Of Thrones.

The new issue also includes all the latest news and reviews that Empire is famous for, plus free posters for Avengers: Endgame and Jordan Peele’s Get Out follow-up, the creepy-looking Us!
