Hollywood mega-hunks Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling and Christian Bale are all set to team up to co-star in The Big Short, reports Variety magazine. The film will be a film adaptation of the book The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine, by Michael Lewis.

Michael is the same author also responsible for The Blindside and Moneyball – which both went on to be award-winning critically acclaimed box-office hits.

Brad of course starred in Moneyball in 2011 and is reportedly the one behind pushing for the adaptation of The Big Short, and will produce the film with his production company Plan B productions.

It will be interesting to see how they adapt the book to a movie as it is primarily a non-fiction book (author Michael Lewis is primarily a financial journalist) that tells the story of the build-up of the housing and credit bubble during the 2000s that led to the global financial crisis.

The book follows the tale several key people who played a role in creating the disastrous credit bubble. The big screen adaptation will likely feature an ensemble-style A-list cast, with each of the stars playing similar-sized parallel roles – think similar to Love Actually, Traffic or Crash.

Brad is reportedly very passionate about bringing the adaptation to the big screen, just as he also pushed for Moneyball, which was nearly shut down multiple times before eventually being released.

No word yet on when the film will come out or even when production starts but we certainly look forward to seeing these three hotties united on screen!
