The trailer for Blinky Bill The Movie has dropped and the little koala with the big imagination is on a mission to find his father.
Blinky is determined to find his father, who went on a quest in the outback and tragically never returned home.
So a determined Blinky sets off from his hometown of Green Patch out into the vast Australian bush in search of his dad.
Along the way, Blinky makes friends with Nutsy, a zoo koala, and Jacko, a nervous frill-necked lizard. It isn’t long before the group encounter danger, with a feral cat constantly trailing the clan.
“My dad’s alive and I’m going to find him. I’m not giving up,” Blinky vouches.
Aussie audiences have a long affiliation with the fictional children’s character, who was first dreamt up by New Zealand-born Australian writer Dorothy Wall in the 1930s in a series of books before Blinky was re-imagined into the popular ABC children’s show Blinky Bill, which ran from 1993-2004.
The movie, which will hit cinemas in late September, boasts a star studded cast of industry heavyweights including Ryan Kwanten as the voice of Blinky plus Robin McLeavy, Toni Collette, Rufus Sewell, Barry Humphries, David Wenham, Richard Roxburgh, Deborah Mailman and Barry Otto.
