He’s broken big as Chechen mobster Noho Hank on HBO’s Barry, but Anthony Carrigan has scored another enticing role.
He’ll cause problems for Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves in Bill & Ted: Face The Music, the second sequel to 1989’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (view the trailer above).
According to The Hollywood Reporter Carrigan has won the role of the adversary to Willam S. Preston Esquire and Theodore Logan (Winter and Reeves) in the new film, which Dean Parisot is about to kick off directing.
Face The Music finds Bill and Ted yet to fulfill their rock and roll destiny, so the now middle-aged best friends set out on a new adventure when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe.
Along the way, they will be helped by their families, old friends and a few music legends.

Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving will be Billie Logan and Thea Preston, the duo’s daughters, while William Sanderson is returning to play the Grim Reaper.
Original writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon are also back, and the cameras will roll starting next month in New Orleans. The movie’s due on 21 August next year.
There was reportedly a bit of trouble getting financial backing for the movie with studios being more in favour of a Bill & Ted reboot instead of a sequel but in the end the latter script idea succeeded.
Solomon told Digitial Spy “We have a script that we really are proud of, that we worked very hard on, that we’ve done many iterations of — and we did it on spec, meaning we spent years working on it because we wanted to get it right, creatively. This is not, ‘Hey let’s all cash-in on the Bill & Ted thing for money’ — this is the opposite. This is, ‘We love these characters, they’ve been with us for our whole lives’ — Chris and me, and Alex and Keanu — and we wanted to visit them again as middle-aged men. We thought it would be really fun, and funny, and sweet.”
Along with this gig, Carrigan will also be seen alongside Kevin Hart in Fatherhood, headed our way on 10 April 2020.
