Clint Rice and Jacqui Burfoot were the relationship fans never expected out of the 2025 season of Married At First Sight Australia, but now they are the only couple engaged from the season.

Love knows no timeline, and nor does their relationship. While attending a reunion viewing party on April 6, Clint dropped down to one knee, surrounded by 150 attendees.

“I wanted to have a conversation later, but we’ve got a room full of new friends… for what you’ve done on-screen, you’re an absolute star and you’ve been a star in my life,” Clint said at the So Dramatic! viewing party surrounded by MAFS fans and friends.

“You’re amazing, and I know we signed up for MAFS to get married and find a life-long partner. So I’ve got one question for you,” he continued.

Jacqui’s stunning custom-made ring is a 5.08 oval diamond solitaire ring set in platinum and 18ct yellow gold, believed to be worth a staggering $30,000.

While being proposed to in front of a large crowd wasn’t on Jacqui’s bingo card, she confessed to Yahoo Lifestyle that “it was exactly what we needed after the season we had.”

The publication revealed Clint had been planning the proposal a month prior and originally planned to have a “little romantic dinner” by the harbour before deciding to do it at the party.

Despite meeting on MAFS, Jacqui and Clint’s relationship didn’t begin until after filming ended in November 2024 following the brides “iconic” final vows speech breaking up with her match, Ryan. Whereas, Clint exited the experiment after the MAFS Couples Retreat with match Lauren.

However, rumours of their relationship began circling prior to final vows and were confirmed when they were spotted on a romantic date in Tasmania.

Speaking to Woman’s Day, the couple revealed Jacqui had packed her bags and was relocating to live with Clint.

Although the pair have received varying responses to their relationship, Clint told Yahoo Lifestyle he is “definitely” open to having a televised wedding ceremony! While the ceremony might be open to the public, it doesn’t mean everyone is invited.

“We’ve already had someone who is so keen to come. She wants to be there, she wants to be playing the hits – DJ Morena [Farina],” Jacqui said.

“She’s been our biggest supporter since day one, in the experiment and out of the experiment. Unwavering love for both of us.”
