Karli, Caitlin and Brooke have all been vying to win Bert’s heart, and this week, they have the chance to impress his family. At the lunch, Caitlin pulls some of Bert’s family members aside. She has something to tell them about Karli.

“I just kind of wanted to let them know her intentions,” Caitlin, 27, explains to TV WEEK. “I felt like I probably needed to tell them that, just so they were aware. I wasn’t going to say that to Bert because we all saw what happened with April when she spoke up.”

After the lunch, Bert’s family choose which girl gets to go on the next date with him. It should be a romantic experience, but it doesn’t turn out that way.

Caitlin, a disability support worker who lives just 40 minutes away from Bert’s farm in Wamuran, Queensland, tells TV WEEK that early on, she was “feeling good” about her relationship with Bert. The two of them would spend time together in the mornings, and Caitlin’s feelings were getting stronger.

“All the other girls were sleeping in, so he and I had a lot of chats,” she says.

Caitlin believes the dynamic changed after “Mum’s picks” Brooke and Taneil turned up at the farm. She says Bert began spending more and more time away from the house.

“I just started to feel, ‘Okay, maybe he doesn’t want to spend time with us.’ I wasn’t going to pressure him to spend time with us. I actually wanted to leave because I knew that Bert didn’t want to be there.”

What’s running through Bert’s mind?
