Georgina Campbell, 41, has just won a publishing contract for her debut book The Kickdown Girls, which she wrote in four months on her mobile phone while commuting, bathing and walking to work.

โ€œI started typing on my Blackberry because it was something I had with me all the time and could easily just take out and start typing anywhere,โ€ Georgina told the MailOnline.

โ€œI was writing on the train, on breaks at work, waiting for a bus, having a bath, when I was walking around โ€” anywhere.

โ€œIt completely took over my life โ€” all I thought about morning to night was writing the book.โ€

After 18 weeks, Georginaโ€™s two thumbs had tapped out more than 55,600 words.

The resulting book The Kickdown Girls โ€” a thriller about a group of girls growing up in South London โ€” was published by Memoir Books this month, to Georginaโ€™s delight.

โ€œWhen I started writing the book I would normally do it after a 12-hour shift at work and it would be a breeze โ€” I loved it and wrote through the night,โ€ she said.

โ€œIt was almost like a holiday โ€” Iโ€™d just sit down and start typing the book out on my Blackberry using my two thumbs.

โ€œIt was one of the most satisfying things Iโ€™ve ever done โ€” and to have it published it just amazing.โ€
