It seems the pressure of trying to find Mr Right is enough to push some people over the legal limit.
When Love Comes To Town contestant, Jennifer Canham was busted driving almost three times over the legal limit on the Gold Coast last month and this morning, the 24-year-old appeared in Southport Magistrate Court.
The Brisbane bombshell and former body builder, was pulled over by police on May 24 for a random breath test where she returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.14 per cent.
Officers later discovered that her licence had expired back in February.
The matter has since been adjourned until July 21, pending results from a Traffic Offenders Program.
Following Ms Canham’s run in with the law, a police spokesman told the Gold Coast Bulletin that the incident is a reminder that being on television does not make you exempt to the law.
“It just goes to show no matter who you are, everybody has to obey the road rules and drink-driving can’t be tolerated,” he said.
“It’s incredibly dangerous to go on the road with alcohol in your system and this sends a message to everyone.”
Ms Canham will now participate in a class of 82 drivers at the weekly Gold Coast-based driving education program.
The five-week program involves lectures given by paramedics, drug and alcohol counsellors, lawyers and victims of traffic offences in a bid to reinforce the need for safe driving.
