The books that hold a dear place to many Aussie teens was originally brought to life on the silver screen and made into a singular film, Tomorrow When the War Began back in 2010.
Unfortunately the film stopped abruptly, and was not picked up for sequel.
Though the film wasn’t a hit internationally, it was the highest-grossing domestic film of 2010, inspiring producers to breathe life back into the project. And a TV series just might be the cost-effective solution to further the stories of those battle-ravaged Aussie teenagers.
It is unlikely that the film cast: Caitlin Stasey, Rachel Hurd-Wood, Lincoln Lewis, Deniz Akdeniz, Phoebe Tonkin, Chris Pang, and Ashleigh Cummings, will reprise their roles in the TV adaptation.
The Courier Mailreported that Ambience Entertainment have already begun their search for seven young stars to portray John’s iconic characters.
The Tomorrow When the War Beganseries is an Australian classic and we hope that is revived back on to our television screens soon!
