Sam Wood isn’t only tall, dark and handsome, he’s successful and great with kids, too. So why has he been playing a real-life bachelor for the past five years?
“I’ve sort of been buried in my work, building my business from the ground up and rarely taking a break,” admits the 34-year-old founder of Gecko Kids in Melbourne – Australia’s first fitness centre for children.
“I’ve dated a few girls, but nothing serious. The reason my last relationship fell apart five years ago was probably because I was so focused on work.”
But instead of turning to dating apps such as Tinder to help him track down the girl of his dreams, Sam took a chance on love and applied for The Bachelor.
“I had a gym in Melbourne and people used to come past my office and say, ‘You should do it, you’d be great on it’, and then we’d have a bit of a laugh about it – but I’d never seen the show,” reveals Sam.
And the rest, as they say, is history! The 2015 series of The Bachelor begins on Wednesday July 29 at 7:30 on Channel Ten.
