The Bachelor’s Blake and Sam gave their first interview about their infamous split to Woman’s Day – now they’ve sat down for a TV interview with The Project’s Carrie Bickmore.
When The Bachelor’s Blake Garvey got down on bended knee and proposed to Samantha Frost it looked like the pair had got their happily-ever-after.
It turned out that all was not it seemed though as in fact, Blake had broken up with Sam just days before the finale went to air. The pair gave their first official interviews about the split exclusively to Woman’s Day – read it here.

Now they’ve also given their first TV interviews, both speaking (separately) to The Project’s Carrie Bickmore.
So does Blake have a new love in his life? When Woman’s Day asked if he was seeing anyone, he rather coyly answered “Nobody new”.
On his interview with The Project, when asked if his heart was in love with someone else, Blake again dodged giving a straight answer:
“It’s not about that right now…my heart is broken.”
“I think right now, the focus is just on this – this has just happened and is still very raw.”
When asked what exactly went wrong in their relationship, Blake responded: “It’s not necessarily that something went wrong. It’s just a general feeling.”
As to whether Sam thought Blake was seeing someone else? “That would make things a thousand time worse,” she said.
“I don’t think so…I would hope not…but you just never know”

It seems like perhaps Blake just got swept up in the moment when he decided to pop the question during the final episode in which he proposed in South Africa.
“I was there, I was in that moment…maybe you just get caught up in the moment,” he told Carrie.
So was there any pressure from above for him to propose? Blake responded: “I think I can maybe put some pressure on myself…I felt that I was doing the right thing and the best thing at the time.”
“I saw someone that I saw a future with and I wanted to spend my life with.”
Sam however is a lot more cynical: “I was not expecting him to propose at all. I was really excited and happy but realistically I was like ‘really?’”
“Reflecting back, I feel quite confused. At the time it felt very natural…”
“I feel very played really.”

After filming finished and they spent several days longer in South Africa, Sam claims that Blake retreated, becoming withdrawn and emotional. So she said she decided to back off: “I let him have his time and distance, [since then]we’ve just hung out as friends – we haven’t had any time together as a couple.”
Sam says that after filming ended and they returned to Australia, they went home to their two different home states with Skyping as their main means of contact.
“As soon as the cameras stopped rolling, I feel he switched off.”
Sam also said that she felt very angry at having the special moment of a marriage proposal ruined, saying that she thought: “How dare you take that moment away from me… if you weren’t sure, you could’ve just given it a crack at having a relationship. “
To Blake’s insistence that he wanted a life partner? “What a load of rubbish”.

It seems like although Sam is still processing her emotions, she’s ready to move on with her head held high and that she has a strong network of friends to support her.
“I was very sad- I cried for a long time when he told me…and then I was angry.
“I feel quite numb about it right now…. I can watch [the show] with my girlfriends but I just think….What a jackass!”
