Last night on The Bachelorette, Georgia Love was well and truly swept away by Courtney, the adorable pasta bracelet maker.
The handsome industrial designer finally cashed in his yellow rose privileges to show his leading lady one hell of a time.
After picking her up in an old school kombi van, the pair headed to the coast for a surfing lesson.
Although the chemistry was strong, Courtney didn’t lean in for the kiss which left our beloved bachelorette just a tad confused.
“There was definitely a moment where I thought, ‘Do I kiss her? Do I not kiss her? Do I go for it? Do I hold back? What do I do?’ I think today I was a little more shy than I thought I would be,” Courtney admitted.
Later in the action-packed episode, Courtney got to select a lucky group of bachelors, for a day of go-kart racing.
As part of Courtney’s date power, he had the ability to choose who got to spend the coveted one-on-one time with the newsreader.
While he could have chosen himself, he instead opted to give Tommy a moment to shine. “You’ve been quiet, and I figure this is probably a good time for you to come meet the lovely Georgia and spend a little extra time with her,” Courtney explained of his risky decision.
It should have been a blessing, but the gift of one-on-one time proved to be the demise of the dapper 32-year-old. And after pouring his heart out, Tommy was left sanding without the very important rose.
We sat down with nice guy to chat about his time in the mansion and his very important mission now that his time on the show has come to an end. Read on for his telling interview, below!
Tommy, 32, Employment Coach
What were your feelings on Georgia after your elimination?
I have no hard feelings whatsoever, it’s a tough decision and I knew going in that it would be tough for her. She’s a lovely girl and honestly, she makes you feel nice and warm inside!
Her smile, her laugh, she’s so nice to talk to! I can’t say a bad thing about her.
Were you upset to leave so early on?
Look, my goal was to make it through the first night and I achieved that so I’m very happy!
Although I left much earlier than I would have liked to, I was lucky to leave the way I did. I could have left without anyone even getting to know me so I was lucky to get that extra time, thanks to Courtney!
Your exit from the show was quite emotional; can you tell us what you were thinking in that moment?
I wasn’t confident going in to any rose ceremony, but I remember thinking to myself that night: ‘she can’t kick me out now!’ I had just opened my heart to her and since I’m not a very confident person, I find it really hard to open up to anyone.
When I say that I haven’t said to words ‘I love you’ in eleven years, that is true –I really haven’t. I might have said those words to my parents once in my lifetime; it’s just not something I’m really comfortable saying.
To even talk about that with Georgia was a massive deal and I’m glad I did because that why I went on the show! I wanted to prove to myself that I can open up, and that when I finally do meet that person I’ll be able to say those words.
Have you found love since the show?
Not yet, I’ve been laying low a little bit. I really struggle to find love! I’m just not the kind of guy to walk up to a girl and start a conversation, but I’m working on that and I’m trying to get that confidence.
Why did you decide to go on The Bachelorette?
I was there to fall in love. It’s the only thing I’m missing in my life. It’s been such a long time since I felt any kid of emotional connection with someone and I was hoping to find that again. I’m not a ladies man, I’m not interested in going out and meeting a lot of girls, I just need to meet one!
Who do you think will win Georgia’s heart?
Ryan to me is the biggest sweetheart and I hope that Georgia and the nation get to see that. He is an absolute gentleman so you couldn’t go wrong with him, but if I was going to fall in love on the show, I’d pick Matty J.
That guy is the full package, I think he’s the best looking guy there, but he also has the charisma and the personality to back it up. He’ll make you laugh, he’ll make you smile and he’ll make you feel good about yourself, so I would take Matty J home with me!
What’s next for you?
I’m on a mission to prove that nice guys don’t always finish last! I’ve had people say that to me my whole life and it’s about time someone showed the world that nice guys can get their chance and come first!
