When Home and Away hunk Steve Peacocke departed Summer Bay earlier this year to pursue a career in Hollywood, ratings figures for the iconic drama plummeted to a record low.
So now, in a move to save the show from being relegated to another channel or even axed, producers have made the extraordinary decision to bring back our favourite star.
Steve, who plays bad boy Darryl Braxton, was wooed home from LA to film some sizzling scenes for the soap, including reuniting with co-star Bonnie Sveen, who he was seen passionately kissing on set.
“The show has been so good to me in terms of launching my career,” the 33-year-old explained to the Daily Telegraph about his decision to return.

Steve admitted he is more than happy to take time out to revive the ailing soap.
“The show has been so good to me in terms of launching my career,” he told the Daily Telegraph about his decision to return.
Adding, “While Brax is in the Bay, it will spice things up a bit!”
“Steve’s return to the Bay is a big favour to the network, and it may just save the show,” says our Seven insider.
“Steve coming back will help everyone out in a big way. He has such a great presence on set and is such a great guy in general. This is exactly what Home and Away needs.”
