In one of the most shocking incidents ever seen on The Block, judges and teams have been left reeling after a chance discovery.
During tonight’s room reveals, Judge Darren Palmer was left stunned after Shannon and Simon had bugged there with a listening device to record the shows judges and produces.
“This is really bad,” said fellow judge Shaynna Blaze, barely comprehending the violation.
Darren shakes his head, saying, “That’s never been done on The Block before.”
And it’s only by pure chance that he discovered the hidden device that would’ve given the brothers an enormous advantage over the other teams in what’s shaping up to be the toughest competition to date.
“I think it’s one of the most dramatic moments ever onThe Block,” one producer told Woman’s Day.
“It’s one of the biggest bombshells I’ve ever seen on the show. This was a case of contestants spying on the judges to get an unfair advantage. You don’t want to know what the judges said off camera!”
Host Scott Cam, who shares the judges’ comments with the contestants each week, was understandably left fuming by the deceitful tactics.
“Scotty wasn’t impressed. No-one has ever mistrusted the advice he gives at the reveals before and it was pretty insulting. And the other teams were pretty riled up by it,” said the producer.
It’s left a tense, toxic atmosphere between the boys and the other teams that will have a lasting effect throughout the series.
Woman’s Day hears, Shannon and Simon are still humiliated and worried about howThe Blockfans will see them after their dirty tricks backfired so spectacularly.
Scotty says if they had of gotten away with it, “spygate” could have cost someone the game. “And that’s not on in this competition.”
