Singer Seal has penned an emotional ballad in honour of Karise Eden titled, Let Yourself.
The song, which will be revealed this week with the release of his new album 7, was supposed to hit the airwaves after his stint coaching her in the 2012 season of The Voice.
Seal led Karise to victory in 2012.
In an interview with news.com.au, Seal says witnessing Karise overcoming inner turmoil to win a nationally televised competition inspired him to get creative.
“I would always say, ‘Let yourself be great. You already have the talent, you have what it takes. The only thing standing in your way is you,” he says.
Karise, 23, suffered a breakdown after winning the competition. She has also suffered anxiety for most of her life.
Seal says that she isn’t alone in dealing with the pressure that comes with fame.

“[The song] is not just for Karise. For a lot of artists on that show, and artists in general, the biggest obstacle we face is ourselves and our uncanny knack of standing in our own way,” he explains.
Karise, who spent most of her youth in women’s refuges and now lives in country Queensland with her son Blayden, tells A Current Affair she has now found her “happy place”.
