She’s one of Australia’s most famous exports, with a kingdom at her feet. And now you can tune into Princess Mary’s story just as it unfolded in real life.
Mary: The Making of A Princess, a telemovie based on Mary’s whirlwind real-life romance and subsequent marriage to Frederik, the Crown Prince of Denmark, is set to air next month, and the first exciting glimpse into the show has been revealed.
The production, which stars actress Emma Hamilton as Princess Mary, nee Donaldson, and Ryan O’Keefe as her fairytale Prince, will follow Mary’s life from school girl to Princess.
The sneak peek, which was released today, shows the famous engagement press conference, a flash of their wedding and even a steamy shot of the early days of their romance.
In one scene, Emma is seen donning Mary’s wedding gown when a friend whispers to her, “Say goodbye to Mary Donaldson”.
Mary gamely whispers back, ‘Never’.
The tele-movie, directed by Jennifer Leacey, will air in December.
