As the new season of My Kitchen Rules kicks off, it seems the new ‘pot-stirrers’ still have catfights and dummy spits on the menu but are lacking in their culinary skills!
There will be plenty of tears, tantrums and a healthy serving of snide comments in the first week alone when My Kitchen Rules returns for the latest season because the latest batch of cooking teams seem to be catastrophes in the kitchen!
To qualify for MKR, each team was required to submit more than 36 main course recipes as well as 36 entrees and three dozen dessert dishes, which they could whip up on demand.
But sources say this year’s teams struggle in the kitchen. “We were worried about the standard of cooking in the Instant Restaurants,” spills an insider, who worked alongside the show’s contestants.
“The challengers didn’t seem to be of the calibre of previous years.” So if you’re after dinner inspiration, perhaps you should stick to a recipe book!
Rock star judge Colin Fassnidge, 42, will be part of this year’s biggest twist!
Additionally, previous challenges will be turned on their head, with a whole new bag of tricks in store for the teams!
So what’s different this year? For one, a number of fiesty gatecrashers will add even more tension than in previous years, keeping the amateur cooks constantly fighting for survival.
“Gone are the MKR Food Truck challenges,” confesses the series insider of the impressive mobile pop-up kitchen that catered to the masses last year.
“This season, teams are being dragged from the campground to the skies.”
