It seems it got too hot in the kitchen for Pete Evans after he stormed out of an official My Kitchen Rules function in Perth last week.
Pete, 41, had his lips pursed and his blue eyes narrowed to what one guest called a “death stare” when he charged out of the MKR launch, leaving fans shocked by his antics.
“This is a tough room,” complained Pete, 41, at the Q&A session earlier in the evening, before trying to shush the crowd.
The Sunday Times labelled Pete “my kitchen tool” in a scathing report of his behaviour, while guests were vocal in their criticism, one calling him a “twit”.
“Who does he think he is, storming off like that?” said an angry guest. “I’ve never liked him on MKR and I like him even less now,” commented another.
“Pete’s got a record of grumpy behaviour, so it’s expected,” says a source. “He doesn’t mix much with the others on set and he walks off at the end of every take, which irritates Manu, who loves to socialise.”
Pete, however, defended his walk-out, telling media he was always “leaving early after the speeches to go and meet family and head straight to the airport”.
Pete’s attitude however has left many wondering how much longer his celebrated TV partnership with “sex symbol” Manu Feildel, 41, can last, given Pete’s strict Paleo diet and his latest dummy spit.
“The hosts are not close anymore,” says a source. “Manu wants someone he can have fun with.”
