“It’s more architecturally challenging than anything we have ever attempted,” says Block co-creator and Executive Producer, Julian Cress, on the new octagonal building in South Yarra.

“This is one of the hardest builds I’ve ever done, both in television and as a chippie,” adds host Scott Cam.

“It’s a huge challenge we’ve set the contestants. Some of them are going to struggle. It’s going to be tough!”

Dean, 30, and team mate Shay, 28, are from Newcastle, NSW. Dean is an electrician. Shay is an English and drama teacher.

Ebony, 23, and Block partner Luke, 28, are from WA (Ebony from Busselton, Luke from Perth). While Luke has the hidden advantage working as a carpenter and landscaper. They may look familiar, because this brother-sister-duo both appeared on The Block Triple Threat earlier this year, but didn’t make it past the elimination rounds.

Andrew is teaming up with Whitney. The two 28-year-olds are from Melbourne, VIC. Andrew is a form worker while Whitney can try and keep everyone looking pretty as the beauty therapist.
