James Blunt joins Dannii Minogue, Chris Isaak and Guy Sebastian on the X Factor Australia judging panel. And it turns out, heโs so much more than just a music expert boasting a cult following on Twitter thanks to his self-deprecating remarks.
After Ronan Keating left the reality singing show, we were concerned the days of zingers were gone. But rest assured, the Youโre Beautiful hitmaker promises to bring the lols and then some.
Just two shows in and the series is already rating through the chart with Jamesโ swagger also winning praise.
โYou may know me as the singer of rather effeminate songs with a high-pitched, squeaky voice but judges be ready, Iโll be cutthroat,โ the 41-year-old admitted during an on-camera chat.
And it doesnโt stop there, his X Factor tagline is Blunt by name, blunt by nature.
โI hope to be honest with people if they are good, Iโll say so, if they are bad, Iโll say so but hopefully with a little bit of kindness,โ the British star added.
A few years back, the global superstar was told by his record label to join the social media site and he hasnโt looked back since.
Chatting to News.com.au, James said he loved joking about on the social network.
โIt reminded me of being in the army where we constantly picked on each other, so I started laughing at people who took themselves so seriously,โ the former army officer said.
โItโs a strange thing some humans do from the anonymity of their bedrooms, probably with their trousers around their ankles, writing abusive things to people theyโve never met.โ
That sense of humour springs new life into the talent show, and it looks like the Goodbye My Lover singer has meet his match in fellow newbie, Chris Isaak.
Surprising viewers with their banter, James admitted that heโs having a blast with the American crooner.
โChris and I being the newbies, weโve gotten along incredibly well. We take the piss out of each other endlessly and Iโve thoroughly enjoyed that.โ
In honour of the surprisingly witty X Factor judge, we look back at some of James Bluntโs funniest moments on Twitter!

Meet James Blunt. British superstar, your new X Factor Australia judgeโฆ and King of the wit.

The 41-year-old has no qualms interacting with his critics in the most hilarious way possible.

And it turns out, heโs not even a fan of his own music!

He might pay himself out but his romantic ballads have earned him a fortune worth millions.

โI sing songs I hate every night, I still learn to love them, I just think about the money and it makes me smile,โ he joked to fellow judge Dannii Minogue.

Last year the former army officer tied the knot with socialite Sofia Wellesley.

While his personal life goes from strength-to-strength, heโs never too big-headed to remember not everyone is a fan of his!

And we just canโt help but love him for it.

He really, truly has zero ego. โI am back recording with Tom Rothrock who produced my first album Back To Bedlam,โ he quipped in 2013 alongside this shot of Tom recoiling and covering his ears.

When someone asked โwhatever happened to James Bluntโ, he simply responded with an image of himself sandwiched between a group of stunning women. Perhaps the best #BluntBurn of all times!

X Factor* airs Sunday to Thursday nights. Be sure to tune in to check out the amazing Aussie talent and Jamesโ constant wit.
