Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will not be returning for the Full House remake

The house will notably be less than full next year when Fuller House debuts on Netfilx as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have declined the offer to participate.

At just nine months old Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen began their successful careers as Michelle Tanner in sitcom Full House, which began in the late Eighties before calling it a day in 1995.

However, the twins sadly won’t be reviving their shared role in the remake of the hit show, despite it being responsible for launching their careers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, producer Robert L. Boyett said in a statement, “Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family.”

He added: “It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavours. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House.”

Understandably, star and executive producer of the revival John Stamos, took to twitter to reveal his disappointment.

“#Heartbroken,” the former heartthrob wrote, he continued: “I understand they’re in a different place and I wish them the best. I promise you will not be disappointed with our reunion and spin off!!”

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen got their big break at just nine months old playing the adorable Michelle Tanner on Full House.

The Olsen twins have stayed away from the silver screen in recent years to focus on their fashion labels, Elizabeth and James and The Row.

Previously the business women revealed that they were not contacted by the creators of the series, a claim which was later blasted by John Stamos as false.

Although the stylish twins coined the term “You got it dude,” they have given this project a big thumbs down. Devo!
