Wednesday night’s episode of Married at First Sight saw the very first same-sex marriage of the series.
MAFS came face-to-face with his new spouse Andy in a stunning outdoor ceremony in New Zealand, where their marriage is legal.
While both grooms had their fair share of wedding day jitters for what the unconventional experience had in store, they managed to make it down the aisle.
Craig and Andy’s first impressions were a match made in heaven, with each groom admitting to seeing qualities they liked about the other.

“Just met Craig and I’m very happy and I couldn’t, wouldn’t, want to change a thing,” Andy said, adding that Craig wasn’t his usual type.
“I love guys with no hair, I love the facial hair. I love the beautiful eyes and the amazing smile and I think he just seems like such a beautiful guy, I hope he feels the same way,” reflected Craig.
But while it finally seemed to be smooth sailing, the pair hit a rather large bump in the road when Craig, a 41-year-old hairdresser, introduced his other half to his ex-boyfriend of 13 years.
“He introduced me to one of his guests – that guest turned out to be his ex-boyfriend,” a furious Andy began.
“The fact that he invited that guy to the wedding – that’s really shocking to me. They were together for 13 years and this is our day. I never thought that Craig would be so frivolous as to invite one of his exes to the first day of the rest of our lives.”
A very shaken Andy then turned to his best man for advice. He recounted the story, getting more and more flustered as he did.
“I don’t know how to deal with that. I think that’s a complete betrayal and you know what I’m like and I don’t actually get over things very quickly,” he said.
“I’m out. I think it is a deal-breaker.”
It took some time, but after the couple’s first argument as a married couple, Andy came to the conclusion that his own past experiences may have caused him to overreact.
“My exes have not been the best. I understand that I’ve got to give Craig the chance to be himself with me and not judge him based on my previous experience,” he said.

Meanwhile, it’s been revealed that the series’ first same-sex couple actually met before by accident, two weeks before the series began filming.
“Funnily enough, two weeks or so before the wedding date Craig said he spotted me on Oxford Street (in Sydney) and tried to engage in conversation,” the handsome groom explained to news.com.au.
He continued: “He tried to hook up with me – he said he was flirting with me. I think it was on a Friday night or Saturday night after work.”
While Craig admitted that he did indeed spot his future husband, he clarifies that he was not being quite as flirtatious as Andy made him out to be.
“No way!” He quipped when asked if he had d hit on his future spouse.
“On the Saturday before we left to go to Queenstown (where they were married) I was leaving work to take the rubbish out and I saw him and I thought he was pretty cute.”
Will these two go the distance? Only time will tell!
