Madeleine West, who portrays the vivacious breakfast TV host, Erica, revealed what it’s really like working with Jessica Marais.
“She is an absolute delight!”
“I had never worked with Jess and she is a breath of fresh air, there is not a diva-istic spell in her body,” she gushed about the actress.
And the love doesn’t stop there. Madeleine shared her thoughts on the mastermind behind Lily and The Wrong Girl, Zoe Foster-Blake.
“I’m a big fan of Zoe’s writing not just in her writings in her novels but in her essays and articles,” the Aussie actress told Woman’s Day.
“She’s very clever, very witty and funny. Her quirk and way with words that is aptly expressed on her Instagram… it’s very entertaining and she certainly seems to hold her own with Hamish!”
Madeleine is wickedly funny as The Breakfast Bar’s anchor, Erica.
“Jess is an absolute delight,” she tells us.
Speaking of Zoe, Madeleine gave us an insight to what the show’s author was like onset.
“She’s very humble in her contribution to the show even though it’s her baby,” the actress remarked.
“She didn’t want to get in to anyone’s way and I think it was a learning experience for her seeing how a television show operates.”
“Zoe was instrumental in the writing process she was there in the writing room giving advice and I think – kudos to the writers on the show they were really able to capture Zoe’s writing style and her comedic sensibilities for the big screen!”

Who was the most serious on set?
Definitely not Jess Marais. You get a constant stream of impressions, singalongs and throwbacks. We call it Jessflix. You can request any film, song or TV show from the ’90s and she can impersonate it for hours on end.
Without giving too much away, what can we expect on the season finale?
Explosions. Fireworks. Moral angst.
As Pete tries his best to support Meredith through the birth of their baby, she in turn wants Lily there to be her support person, which Lily tries to juggle as she faces massive dilemmas in her career and love-life.
And then there’s the cliff-hanger…
