After closing her fashion line recently, Katie Holmes is returning to what she loves most – acting.
In one of her first starring roles since the hit TV showDawson’s Creek,Katie has taken on an “Audrey Hepburn-esque” role as a New York City socialite.
The 35-year-old actress will star in the yet-to-the-named ABC drama, which will detail the rivalry between two influential and manipulative Manhattan women.
Katie will play Ann, an educated NYC blueblood who has never used her place in society for power.
Katie has had a handful of TV guests spots and TV series projects since she split from husband Tom Cruise in 2012 and moved to New York with her daughter Suri, now 7.
While her new character is set to shake things up, Katie is happy to keep her real life low-profile in the Big Apple.
“I love the theatre, the galleries in my neighborhood. Stuff like that is so much of what makes me love this city,” she toldPeople recently.
“I love the Knicks. I love talking to my neighbours in the elevator. I like feeling a part of something big!”
