Former Australian Idol judge Mark Holden had the nation talking last night, following his Dancing with the Stars ‘dance floor disaster’. So what did his wife think of his performance?
“My wife’s told me I ought to be deeply ashamed — she slept upstairs last night,” he told Kyle and Jackie O.
“I was possessed by a clown. I’ll never watch it back. Any offence that the clown caused, I wish to apologise for.”

The 60-year-old went on a bizarre rant making inappropriate comments to the judges.
Mark, who was dressed as a clown, scored just four points for his routine which he performed to the Madness 1982 song House of Fun.
He first spoke to host Daniel MacPherson strangely saying in a deep voice: “Do you like balloons Danny. I can get you a balloon Danny.”
He has since apologised, realising how far he went after the show’s producers took him aside following the incident.
Mark Holden and his wife Anna.
“They did take me aside. They weren’t happy. They were all trying to shut me down. I should’ve shut up,” he said during an interview with Sea FM.
“I’m deeply ashamed. I’m looking back at what happened the night before and I’m thinking ‘was I really part of that?’”
Mark’s behaviour was so strange that viewer’s accused him of being drunk, a claim which he has denied saying, “I never work drunk”.
Mark had to be ushered off stage, by Daniel who was trying his best to calm the difficult situation.
His co-host Edwina Bartholomew has since criticised Holden’s performance, labelling it “disrespectful”.
“If I were Mark, I’d either pull my head in or excuse myself from the show,” she said during a live cross on Sunrise.
Despite scoring just 4 points and being in the bottom two for the second week in a row, Mark remains in the competition. April Rose Pengilly and her partner Aric were eliminated last night, after they failed to gain enough viewer votes.
“If I could swap with April Rose I would — and if they’ll let me do that I’ll be happy to do it,” Holden now says.
“I’m saying that I would fall on my sword if it meant that April Rose got back in.”
