As one of Australia’s first small screen darlings on Home and Away, we all wanted Bobby Simpson to find lifelong happiness. Fortunately for the actress who portrayed the ultimately doomed character, her real-life dreams have been realised.
Nicolle Dickson, who played Summer Bay’s resident wild child, is now 46 – and celebrating 25 years of wedded bliss with her husband James Bell.
The happy couple invited Woman’s Day along to their beautiful wedding vow renewal on Fiji’s Denarau Island.
And the occasion couldn’t have been more different to their wedding a quarter of a century ago, when they married in Nicolle’s Sydney school chapel surrounded by Home and Away alumni.
This time, as they shared emotional pledges surrounded by palm trees and crystal-clear waters, with very few guests, including, their sons, Lincoln, 19, and Winston, 17.
“It was so nice to have the boys there with us,” Nicolle tells us. “It was certainly very different to our first wedding!”
While speaking to Woman’s Day, Nicolle reveals her secrets to a long and happy relationship. Grab the latest issue, on stands now, to find out more and check out our exclusive album of her vow-renewal ceremony!
