Kath and Kim’s Jane Turner does the best impression of Grant Denyer

Jane Turner is one of Australia’s most iconic sketch comedians, so even when she rips you to shreds on national TV it’s an honour – just ask Grant Denyer.

On the upcoming episode of sketch comedy show Open Slather Jane Turner takes on the role of Grant Denyer as the positively enthusiastic host of The Great Australian Spelling Bee.

Open Slather is well known for poking fun at famous Australians including everyone from Gina Rinehart to Princess Mary – but when it came time to tackle Grant Denyer, he wasn’t even a little bit mad.

In one still from the yet-to-be-aired episode, 53-year-old Jane can be seen standing next to the contestants of The Great Austrayan Spellin’ Be on a red crate – a clear dig at Grant’s short stature.

However, we don’t think there will be any love lost between Jane and Grant, as the 38-year-old couldn’t contain his excitement last time the Kath and Kim star played him on the show.

Back in June the funny-lady portrayed Grant as the host of his other hit show Family Feud and he absolutely loved it.

“Can’t believe Kath & Kim’s Jane Turner plays ME next week on Open Slather! Epic!! Even if they totally rip me, who cares. It’s Jane Turner!” he tweeted at the time.

“Well done last night @openslather !!’ he wrote in another Tweet, “Epic giggle. I like Jane Turner doing me more than me doing me!! Totes rad.”

Even though he loved the last spoof of him on the show we’re not sure if he’ll have a chance to watch this Sunday’s episode after only recently becoming a dad for the second the time.

Already parents to Sailor, four, Grant and wife Cheryl were proud to announce the safe arrival of daughter Scout.

Make sure you grab this week’s issue of Woman’s Day to get all the touching details about Grant and his wife Cheryl’s gorgeous new addition.
