Josh Lawson is stepping into some mighty big shoes as he prepares to take on the role of a lifetime as Paul Hogan.
The actor, who cracked Hollywood in the highly popular comedy House of Lies, was hand-picked to lead the cast in the upcoming Seven miniseries.
“He’s a man who means a lot to a lot of Australians, but he means a lot to me,” the 34-year-old has explained his new gig.
“As a comedian and an actor and as someone who lives in Los Angeles, I’m not sure how much of that would be possible without the path Paul Hogan paved for a lot of actors.”
Josh is joined by stellar line-up including Justine Clarke as first wife Noelene Hogan, Ryan Corr as Hoges’ best mate and comedic sidekick John “Strop” Cornell, Laura Gordon will portray Linda Kozlowski and Nikki Osborn as Delvene Delaney.

Josh (R) leads a stellar-assemble cast for Channel Seven’s upcoming mini-series Hoges. The 34-year-old will play the title character, Australia’s iconic Crocodile Dundee star Paul Hogan (R).
Joining Josh is actor Ryan Corr, who will portray his comedic-side kick John ‘Strop’ Cornell.
Aussie actress Justine Clarke will step into the shoes of Paul’s first Mrs Hogan, Noelene.
And the Playschool host seems to have nailed the dress sense.
Meanwhile Nikki Osbourne (R) will take on ’70s glamour gal Delvene Delaney, who starred in The Paul Hogan Show.
And there’s no Dundee without his glamourous romantic lead, Linda Kozlowski. The first look of Laura Gordon’s portrayal can be seen in the tele-movie’s faux poster.
While the premiere scene is set in 1986…
That didn’t stop a touch of the new millennium slipping on set.
We must say, “Now THAT’S a poster!”
We think Mr Hogan would be mighty proud.
