On Wednesday the 25-year-old, who is in the running to win Sam Frost’s heart, issued an apology via The Daily Telegraph for his past discrepancies after claims he was a bully surfaced on the Bachelorette‘s Facebook page.
“I was silly and foolish during my school years, I have grown up a lot since then and I’m a different man today.”
“‘I am sorry if I caused hurt to anyone when I was younger,” the carpenter explained.
Earlier in the week, a woman took to the show’s official Facebook page claiming to have been a victim of Davey’s antics however the allegations have since been removed.
“It is our social media moderation policy to remove any posts that contain foul language, threats, trolling or abuse. While the forum is for fans to engage with the show, we also have a duty of care to participants, and so routinely try to remove defamatory comments,” the program’s production company Endemol Shine Australia said in a statement.
A quick glance at the reality star’s social media page and it’s easy to see Davey enjoys letting his hair down.
In one snap, the Sydney local bends over while his mate, former Masterchef contestant Dan Churchill, holds a baguette to his backside as they hit the town. In another post (above) he holds onto a model’s pert behind.
Meanwhile an insider has revealed to Woman’s Day that Davey’s party boy reputation in his formative years is indeed true, recounting one particularly boozy night which ended in the chippy eating a urinal cake.
The insider also reveals he hits the party circuit hard and “the group of guys he hangs with are animals.”
Davey’s apology comes off the back of speculation he only entered the competition after his mates dared him – not because he’s on a quest for true love.
The self-confessed “girlfriend guy” has been on a mission to prove to Sam he’s not a womaniser after she accused him of being a “ladies’ man” on the first episode.
Whatever the case, one thing’s for sure – Davey’s certainly getting noticed!
