Luke and Cody Cook have been crowned winners of Channel Seven’s House Rules in a nail-biting finale on Sunday night.

The 24-year-old twins beat out Victorian couple Claire Lintzeris and Hagan Rice to walk away from the competition with their entire mortgage paid off.

“It’s definitely life-changing,” said Luke, who broke down in tears following the announcement.

“I may not have a family now but it’s definitely something I’m looking forward to experience and to be debt-free, I’m set up for life. I’ll be able to enjoy the little things in life when I have kids down the track and not have to worry about a financial burden.”

The brothers, who now live in Luke’s home in Dalby, had a final judges’ score of 17, just two points less than runner-up couple Claire and Hagan.

However, when the points were combined with the viewers’ votes, Luke and Cody came out on top with the winning total.

Although struggling couple Claire and Hagan didn’t get their mortgage paid off, they did get to walk away with a completely transformed home.

The parents-of-two were living with their daughters in a tiny one-bedroom home, which has now been renovated into a three-bedroom house more fitting for a family.
