In the wake of Sam and Sasha’s happy ending, Sasha has revealed that he came close to quitting The Bachelorette.
Speaking to The Herald Sun, Sasha confessed, “I was really confused by the situation, halfway through [filming the show] I had a bit of a meltdown.”
Sasha explained that, although they didn’t put it in the show, there was a lot going on behind the scenes.
“They didn’t show it on TV but I said, ‘Hey, I need some help here, I don’t know what to do’,” the 30-year-old construction worker said.
And for Sam, who knew that Sasha was the one from the beginning, his confession was a definite scare.
“I was like, ‘Oh God, he’s going to leave’ and I was terrified,” says the 26-year-old, “I was so upset I couldn’t even console him, I couldn’t help him and guide him through it.”
Luckily for the pair, Sasha decided to stick it out and was crowned the winner of the season – and of Sam’s heart – in last night’s thrilling episode.
Sam posted this shot of herself and Sasha, captioned, “I finally found the one I’ve been searching my whole life for.. Sasha Dean, I love you so much @sash1313 thank you for being my best friend, always making me laugh & supporting me through thick and thin.”
But Sasha wasn’t the only one to have a “meltdown” before the finale – Bachelorette Sam had her own, too!
Last night, just hours before the final episode was set to air, news website The Daily Mail published photos of Sam and Sasha in a hotel room caught in a loving embrace, spoiling the ending of the show.
In an interview to KIIS FM this morning, Sam revealed she was “gutted” by the spoiler.
“We’ve worked so hard [to keep it a secret],” Sam told KIIS FM, “There was no curtains [in the hotel room] and we were doing the shoot for the photos that were released today and so someone has tipped someone off and it was awful.”
Sam was alerted to the photos by devastated commenters on her Instagram.
“Fans on my Instagram were like ‘I don’t even want to watch the show, it’s spoiled’, so many people [were commenting] and I was like ‘what is going on’ and then I checked The Daily Mail and I’m like ‘you’re joking’. They’re not allowed to take photos inside are they?”
“We were ten floors up and they’re in a building opposite with a huge lens. It’s really scary,” said the Bondi beauty.
Commenting on his girlfriend’s reaction to the photo, Sasha said that Sam was “hysterical” after finding out.
“It was so bad. I called Sam up and she was hysterical the poor thing, and the crew and everyone worked so hard and to be spoiled two hours before…” said Sasha.
Following the publication of the photos, Channel 10 have taken out an injunction against The Mail Online to remove the photos, and all social media posts.
The website has taken down the photos and the article.
Sasha also posted his own tribute to his girlfriend, “Words cannot express how elated I am to be with this wonderful young lady! Not only do I adore her but I think she is the most grounded, funny and family orientated girl I have ever met.”
But it’s not all doom and gloom! Even though the ending was spoiled, Sam and Sasha’s ending was as fairy tale as can be.
The loved up pair released a video on The Bachelorette’s Twitter thanking the fans for their support – and of course flaunting their love.
“A huge thank you and a shout out to everyone to everyone at home for just supporting us the entire time,” said Sam, “A huge cheers to all of you guys!”
“I just feel so lucky to have a second chance,” said a smiling Sam, “So thank you to everyone.”
“And especially to this guy!” Sam said, nudging into boyfriend, Sasha, “For supporting me, and just lovin’ on me!”
Sasha also took the time to thank the supporters, saying, “Thanks everyone for accepting me into Sam’s open arms! It’s been amazing, it’s been an amazing experience. Cheers!”
