Last night's Bachelorette episode was a curious mix of butterflies, dodgeball and mud.

The boys have gotten shirtless more than once, there’s been one very heated couch make-out session and, following last night’s muddy date, this season of The Bachelorette is shaping up to be extremely steamy.

Er, and weird.

Last night’s episode was admittedly a rather slow burner, which included a solo date for English gentleman Alex (and a kiss – in a butterfly cage, no less)…

Sealed with (a very quick) smooch! Sam and British babe Alex enjoyed a peck on last night’s episode.

A playful dodgeball group date with Davey, Richie, Sasha, Will, Kanye (whoops – we mean Kayne) and Dave…

But it definitely heated up towards the end when the winning team, Richie, Wills and Kayne, were invited to join Sam for an intimate session in the Turkish baths.

In nothing more than their swimmers, the three boys were lathered in mud by Miss Frost and then, in turn, lathered her in mud “without being a creep.”

Game on! The boys went head-to-head in a ferocious dodgeball game in a quest for more time with Sam.

Clad in a tiny scalloped black bikini with her hair loosely tied up, Sam looked relaxed and happy as she showed the boys the ropes of pampering, walking them through treatments and subtly touching muscles. What a tough gig.

“It was an intimate moment… that I shared with two other men,” WA boy Richie reflected of the strange group date.

“I don’t know what the other guys were doing or thinking. I was just focused on putting the mud on her without being a creep. I was in my own zone.”

But not everyone passed the spa test. At the end of the night, two of the lads were asked to leave.

During the rose ceremony, the last three came down to Will, Davey and Kieran, who were all vying for the last spot.

Unfortunately for Will and Kieran, Sam asked Davey to stay, cutting the Bachelors down to eight.

We can’t wait to see what happens next!
