Asher Keddie has delighted fans with news that Offspring will be back for its seventh season in the new year.

Channel Ten confirmed that the actress, who portrays TV’s beloved character Nina Proudman, will indeed return to our screens.

Ten program chief, Beverley McGarvey, announced that the Gold Logie winner will be joined by the entire Proudman family, for the ten-episode season.

“We’re thrilled that Asher and the team are coming back and our intention is to bring back as many of the main cast as possible.”

Adding, “We’ve already got some scripts together for the early episodes. There are stories for everybody.”

Unlike her onscreen persona, Asher, 42, was anything but bumbling about continuing Nina’s story.

“As always, it’s great to be back for another season of Offspring,” the 42-year-old told The Daily Telegraph.

“It’s the gift that keeps on giving, and I’m looking forward to the madness of it all once again.”

After a two-year hiatus, fans of the hit drama were overjoyed about the return of the television drama, with the show racking in over one million viewers (consolidated) per episode.

The gang is back together!

And we expect they’ll all be anxious to find out what happens next in the lovable, yet highly dysfunctional Proudman household.

At the end of last season, we saw Nina finally say goodbye to her dead partner Dr Patrick Reid, by rejecting the idea of having another child with his sperm.

Instead, the beloved obstetrician has found love with the incredibly charming public relations fixer Harry Crewe, played by Alexander England. No doubt this new romance will serve as a key arc in the upcoming season.

How could we forget about about heartbreaking cliffhanger with Jimmy and Zara Proudman as they navigate through their martial problems. We expect Jimmy’s onscreen sister Billie, played by Kat Stewart, will be at the ready with her unsolicited and hilarious advice.

Offspring first burst onto our screens back in 2010 and has been a fan favourite ever since.

“It was off air for nearly two years and during that time viewers’ habits have shifted dramatically so for the season average to come in at over 1 million (is fantastic),” Beverley said about the show’s return.

Fans can’t wait to find out what’s next for Dr Nina Proudman.
