The final two performers Dylan and Amy ended the night with a full circle moment, singing the songs from their auditions. Dylan sang Better Be Home Soon by Crowded House and his incredible rendition had judge Kyle Sandilands once again feeling emotional.

The singer from the Northern Rivers in NSW won Australia’s hearts and received the most amount of votes from people all over the country.

After his win, Dylan was near speechless, only being able to say “thank you” to Australia for voting for him.

Speaking with TV Week earlier in the season, Dylan spoke about the loss of his mother as well as the joys of being a dad and how much he loves being up on stage. “To connect with people through music is such a powerful thing. I have goosebumps thinking about it,” he shared.

Will Dylan become an Australian superstar along with the likes of Guy Sebastian, Shannon Noll and Jessica Mauboy who also got their start on Australian Idol? We’ll have to wait and see…
