Dropped into the middle of nowhere, with just a few tools and their wits to get by, Alone Australia is the ultimate test for survivors.
There are no teammates to fall back on, no film crews just out of frame able to help – just the participants by themselves dropped into the wilds of New Zealand’s South Island (in this second season). The last one standing wins $250,000.
It’s tough and it’s lonely, so who would take on such a difficult physical and mental challenge? These 10.
With the new season hitting screens on March 27, continue scrolling to meet the Alone Australia 2024 contestants.
Rick, 58
Survival educator and former SAS soldier, QLD
With eight years in the famous Special Air Service, Rick – who’s become a bit of a TikTok star – is looking forward to what he calls “the ultimate opportunity to put experience and knowledge to the test!”
Mike, 60
Resilience coach, NSW
The oldest of the 10 survivalists this season, Mike is a former Waratahs rugby player and a hunter looking forward to the ultimate mental and physical challenge. “I’m confident I’ve got what it takes to win,” he says.
Leanne, 41
World Heritage Aboriginal programs officer, VIC
After a decade being a mum, Leanne is keen to take the time to test herself. “I know a bit,” she says. “And using all that will get me through this.”
Chace, 27
Defence Force combat engineer, QLD
The youngest cast member, Chace has military experience and an interest in outback adventure, hunting especially. Alone Australia is his dream come true. “I’ve been outdoors since before I can remember,” he says.
Suzan, 54
Wilderness adventure guide, VIC
Living a nature-based existence off-grid for decades, Suzan has a mission: “I want to show that an older woman can use wisdom and experience to compensate for declining physical strength,” she says.
Tamika, 51
Off-gridder and former police officer, QLD
The daughter of a bushman, Tamika has the skills to survive, but also a message to pass on. “I want to inspire others to love the Earth as much as I do,” she says.
Krzystof, 39
Aquaculturalist, VIC
A jack of all trades, Krzysztof is used to looking after himself. Call it stubbornness, he admits, but he won’t give up “until my loved one taps me on the shoulder and tells me I’ve won”.
Andreas, 42
Personal trainer and subsistence hunter, NSW
Former model Andreas is a hunter who already provides more than 90 per cent of the protein his family needs. “I’m confident my body can handle this,” he declares.
Jack, 55
Tradesman and game hunter, NSW
Dad-of-two Jack already loves camping and hiking solo. What’s he afraid of in the bush? Nothing! “I’m the scary thing,” the tradie says.
Jason, 36
Youth worker, NSW
A proud Yanyuwa, Waanyi/Garawa man and jungai – a cultural policeman/carer for country – Jason hunts using both modern and traditional survival methods. “This is the ultimate challenge,” he says.
