To the delight of their fans the world over, the British royals have released their Christmas card photos, and we challenge you to look at them without smiling!

In a serendipitous surprise, Duchess Catherine and Prince William released an adorable picture of their family-of-five dressed in jeans and sitting on a tree trunk outside their country home in Norfolk.

The three youngsters, Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3 and Prince Louis, 7 months, are seen cuddling up to their parents and looking utterly charming.

Would it be normal if we printed this out and stuck it on our fridge? We can’t stop looking!

While the picture appears to have been taken at least a month ago during the British Autumn, seeing just how much little Prince Louis has grown up is making us rather misty eyed – time flies!

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s Christmas photo is another treat for royal fans – a never-before-seen picture of the pair at their wedding in May.

Given the magnitude of the royal couple’s May 19th wedding day, it was only fitting that the pair share a retrospective nod to the event of the year.

And while his two sons and their respective spouses can’t help but steal the show, Prince Charles and wife Duchess Camilla gave them a good run for their money in their sweet Christmas card photo for 2018.

The pair are seen sitting on a bench looking at each other rather fondly, and it’s a sight to behold.

All three images have only just been released now, but it’s interesting to note they were each taken at least a month ago.

This isn’t uncommon behaviour for royals, who generally pick Chritsmas card images that represent events from the past year.

And indeed all three families have had plenty to celebrate in 2018.

Prince Louis was welcomed by Kate and Wills back in April, and he’s been melting our hearts ever since.

In November, Kate spoke to fans about how fast Louis was growing, saying: “Louis’s getting bigger, I can’t believe he’s like seven months, he’s getting to be a big boy.”

In a ceremony straight out of a fairytale, the pair were married in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May.

Meghan wore a stunning Givenchy off-shoulder gown for the nuptials, and her impeccable style hasn’t wavered since.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles also celebrated a rather special milestone this year – his 70th birthday.

The royal grandfather celebrated in style, first attending a star-studded birthday bash at London Palladium hosted by ITV. Kylie Minogue and Cheryl were among some of the celebrities who rubbed shoulders with the future King.

And on the day of his big 7-0, a reception and dinner in the State Rooms of Buckingham Palace was held.

The event was no casual affair – along with the royal family themselves, other European royal dignitaries including Crown Prince Frederick and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark joined Charles to celebrate the milestone.

Furthermore, in what might have been the best present of all, a series of stunning new images of Prince Charles and the two generations below him were captured by royal photographer Chris Jackson of Getty Images.

The gorgeous album was filled with candid shots of Charles, Camilla, William, Harry and their families.
