Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter, Zara Tindall, is expecting her second child with husband Mike Tindall.
“The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh and members of the Royal family are delighted with the news,” the palace’s official statement read.
According to the BBC, the new addition to the family is due to arrive in the European spring of next year.
Zara’s husband Mike took to Twitter to celebrate his family’s incredible news.
“Just a quick one to say thank you for the messages,” the 38-year-old tweeted. “We are very very happy about the little one on its way. 2017 is already starting well!!”
Zara and Mike are already the proud parents to their cheeky two-year-old Mia Grace Tindall, who the couple welcomed in 2014.
Mia’s new sibling will be Her Majesty’s sixth great-grandchild.
The expectant mum, who is the daughter of Princess Royal Anne and her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips, recently chatted about her exciting Christmas plans.
While Zara, 35, and her children hold no royal title, their holidays are still filled with the same traditions as the royals love.
“Having all the generations of my family together at Christmas is my favourite part of the season,” she spilled to Country Living.
“It’s a time of year that is about being with people you love, great food and loads of games to play.”
Speaking of how special that time of year is, especially for her first-born, she continued, “Christmas takes on a new magic when you have children.”
“Mia will share this Christmas with lots of her cousins, some very close in age to her, and I think this year will be the one when she really starts to understand it all.”
Zara and Mike’s darling bub will join the next generation of royal kids.
That includes big sister Mia, Prince William and Duchess Catherine’s two kids, three-year-old Prince George and his little sister, one-year-old Princess Charlotte, along with Zara’s brother Peter Phillip’s kids, Isla, four, and her big sister Savannah, who’ll celebrate her sixth birthday four days after Christmas.
