Princes William and Harry have donned hard hats and big grins to help out with The Big Build: Veteran’s Special.

In a trailer for the BBC One show – which is about turning derelict houses in Manchester into homes for ex-service personnel – the brothers are seen helping lay paving stones in front of a crowd of spectating tradies.

“Get back to work,” Harry jokes. “I’m sure you’ve seen a Prince laying a paving stone before!”

The clip also features William explaining, “Having that brotherhood means an awful lot to the guys.”

It’s clear that the cause is very close to William’s and Harry’s hearts, particularly as both of them have served time in the military.

As they joined the DIY SOS team to help with the final stages of the project, the boys were more than happy to lend a hand.

And Harry even scored himself an interesting nickname on site! Explaining to HELLO! he’d been told to address the brother as You Royal Highness, one worker admitted to mixing it up a little.

“They joined in all the banter, giving as good as they got. Billy, our electrician, calls everyone on site ‘Sausage’ so he tried, ‘Your Royal Sausage.’ Harry said to him, ‘Listen, if you’re going to call me Sausage, it’s going to be a very long day!”
