She calls herself the “dirty, inappropriate” new Yummy Mummy on the block.
But behind closed doors, Iva Marra is dealing with her own personal anguish: her beloved mum Stevica, 61, has brain cancer, and Iva is doing everything in her power to find a cure.
“She’s not doing too well,” the 33-year-old tells TV WEEK.
“Every week, I’m at the hospital searching for new trials. My mum is my best friend and my idol. She’s done everything she can to give me an amazing life, so now it’s my turn to return the favour.”
“I can’t imagine losing my mum – it’s the worst thought ever.”
Earlier this year Iva took part in Dine For a Cure, an annual dinner that aims to raise money for brain cancer research and to bring attention to the disease.
“This whole experience with brain cancer has made me angry, upset and determined to do something to beat it” she wrote in a statement for the event.
As for Iva, she’s faced her own health scare, suffering an ectopic pregnancy before giving birth to daughter Milana, now a year old.
“I didn’t think I could love anyone more than myself,” she says of Milana.
“But I’m not a priority anymore.”
Iva, who has been branded ‘the diva’ on the newest season of Yummy Mummies, named her daughter after the fashion capital of the world.
The trendy mum hopes that like herself, her daughter will inherit the same love of fashion, shoes and all things designer.
Taking on the role of this season’s straight shooter, Iva can always be counted to catch other mums off guard with her no filter sense of humour, much to the joy of the shows fans.
Yummy Mummies Season 2 is streaming on 7plus.
