Our favourite Australian crime series The Last King of The Cross is returning for a second season, featuring higher stakes and greater threats.
Making a return to the underworld is Aussie sweetheart Lincoln Younes as John Ibrahim who has previously revealed portraying the businessman was a dream – prior to the television series coming into fruition – after reading his 2017 novel.
“There was a picture that one of my friends took, while we were on Zoom,” Lincoln previously revealed on The Project.
“And for some reason, I looked like him [John] and a very close friend sent it, and said, ‘If they ever make a miniseries you should think about playing him’.”
Thankfully enough for the former Home and Away star, Lincoln is reprising his role for yet another season, alongside his on-screen brothers Claude Jabbour (Sam Ibrahim) and Alex Kaan (Fadi Ibrahim).
With filming for its second season, it has also been confirmed fellow cast members Dave Hoey (Michael Ibrahim), Tess Haubrich (Detective Liz Doyle), Matt Nable (Big Tony), Uli Latukefu (Tongan Sam), and Janet Anderson (Simone) will be making a comeback.
The plot for The Last King of The Cross follows 18 months from the first – John lying low overseas while his brother Sam is in prison.
Greed and ambition take over John upon his return as he sets his sights on Sydney’s nightclub empire, Oxford Street. It’s this move that sends John and his family into a world of trouble as Oxford’s reigning queen, Ray Kinnock prepares to defend her territory.
“Last King of The Cross promises to once again push the boundaries, showcasing the evolution of our characters against the backdrop of Sydney’s gritty and glamorous nightlife scene where power, sex, crime, and business intersect,” Heliums Mark Fennessy said.
While it is unknown when the second season will be hitting screens, the first season is very much available for streaming on Paramount +.
