After a lot of speculation in the media, TV WEEK has today announced that TV’s night of nights, the TV WEEK Logie Awards, will be heading to Queensland’s Gold Coast in 2018, as part of a four-year deal with the Queensland Government and Tourism and Events Queensland.
The 2018 TV WEEK Logie Awards will take place in July at The Star on the Gold Coast with broadcast partner the Nine Network once again bringing all the action to viewers across the country.
“We are delighted to be partnering with the Queensland Government, Tourism and Events Queensland, The Star and Nine Network to bring the TV Week Logie Awards to Queensland for the first time,” Jayne Ferguson, General Manager, Women’s Lifestyle & Entertainment at Bauer Media, says.
“The Logies have enjoyed considerable support over the many years they have been held in Melbourne, but it’s the right time, as we celebrate our 60th year, for us to share that excitement with another great Australian city and we look forward to the Gold Coast hosting television’s night of nights in 2018 and beyond.”
As an established destination for television and film production, which attracts numerous quality local and international productions, Queensland is the perfect location to host the TV WEEK Logie Awards, the first time they have been held in the Sunshine State.
The TV WEEK Logies are Australia’s most popular and talked about awards show and red carpet event. This year’s Nine Network broadcast easily dominated its broadcast across all key demographics and pulled in an average national audience of 1.276 million viewers, peaking at 1.797 million viewers. The awards also saw record numbers across the brand’s digital platforms, with more than 1.1 million page views on the official TV WEEK Logies website and a Facebook reach of more than four million people.
