Top 10 guest stars on Bones

You won't believe some of the famous faces that have appeared on Bones over the years.

The final ever episode of Bones aired earlier this year and we’re still mourning the loss.

Die-hard fans will know that many famous faces popped in for a cameo here and there over the 12 years the show was on air.

We’ve pulled together our list of the top 10 guest stars.

Can you believe Betty White made her first appearance on the show at 93 years old? What a legend.

Zooey Deschanel [season 5, ep 10, “The Goop On The Girl”]: Emily Deschanel’s real-life sister guest-starred as her character Brennan’s second cousin Margaret. Booth (David Boreanaz) thought they looked alike enough to be sisters, but Brennan insisted there was no resemblance.

Stewie Griffin [season 4, ep 25, “The Critic In The Cabernet”]: Possibly the weirdest cameo of the series. While Booth was in the interrogation room with a suspect, he hallucinated that the Family Guy’s know-it-all baby was there too.

Billy Gibbons [season 1, ep 9, “The Man In The Fallout Shelter”, recurring]: The bearded guitarist from ZZ Top had a recurring role as Angela’s (Michaela Conlin) father. Series creator Hart Hanson admits he cast Billy just so he could get to meet one of his idols.

David Hornsby [season 9, ep 6, “The Woman In White”]: Emily’s actor husband was cast as the priest in the wedding episode. But he didn’t end up actually marrying Booth and Brennan. That would have been too weird.

Stephen Fry [season 2, ep 13, “The Girl In The Gator”, recurring]: The British comedian was a huge hit as “really English” psychiatrist Dr Gordon Gordon Wyatt. He later returned, by popular demand, as chef Gordon Gordon Wyatt.

Cyndi Lauper [season 5, ep 1, “Harbingers In A Fountain”, recurring]: The 1980s pop superstar played Angela’s kooky psychic, Avalon Harmonia. She popped up in a few episodes and even sang “At Last” at Brennan and Booth’s wedding.

Kathy Reichs [season 2, ep 11, “Judas On A Pole”]: She’s the forensic anthropologist and author who created Temperance Brennan. So it was only fitting that a guest role was written for her, as a forensic anthropologist called Constance Wright.

Betty White [season 11, ep 4, “The Carpals In The Coy-Wolves”, recurring]: Proving that no one is too old to guest-star on Bones, Betty made her first appearance at the age of 93. She played a highly experienced forensic anthropologist, Dr Beth Mayer.

Sleepy Hollow stars [season 11, episode 5, “The Resurrection In The Remains”]: It was the crossover that sounded too weird but ended up making sense. Nicole Beharie, as Abbie Mills, and Tom Mison, as Ichabod Crane, turned up to the Jeffersonian, following the discovery of human remains.

Freddie Prinze Jr [season 9, ep 1, “The Secrets In The Proposal”, recurring]: David Boreanaz never reunited with his Buffy co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar on Bones. But he did get to act some scenes with her husband Freddie. Freddie played Booth’s old buddy Danny Beck.
