He was a fan favourite from the very start. But The Voice Australia 2017 winner Judah Kelly admits he still can’t believe his luck after taking out the competition last night.
“I’m still not sure how I’m feeling to be honest,” the team Delta star tells TV WEEK.
“I’m excited, I’m thankful, I’m so many things right now. There’s just so much going on.”
Judah says he was “genuinely shocked” when he heard The Voice host Sonia Kruger announced him as the winner.
“I honestly thought Hoseah had it,” Judah says.
“And had he of won, I would have been as equally as excited and happy for him. He is a great guy with a great voice and we are great mates.”
When asked what winning means to him, Judah struggles to find the words.
“You have no idea,” he says.
“This has been a long time coming for me. It’s been such a long, long journey to get here. I mean, I’ve been gigging for years trying to be heard and to make something like this happen so it means the world to me.”
And as for his coach and biggest fan, Delta Goodrem, Judah says he owes his recent success to her.
“Delta, she’s pretty damn awesome,” he laughs.
“She did a lot of things she didn’t have to do, even when the camera’s weren’t rolling she was always there and has been my biggest support since day one.”
So what’s next for Judah?
“Well, I just want to get my single out there and start working on an album,” he says.
“There are so many opportunities and possibilities now so I’m just going to take it day by day.”
