Along with unveiling the premiere date, the streaming service shared new key art AND a released a teaser trailer for the new season… Because this is a TV addicts lucky day!

Season two of The Sinner will follow Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) as he works a new, but equally disturbing, case. The new season won’t feature Cora, played by Jessica Biel.

Instead, it will follow Harry as he assesses an unsettling crime in his hometown of rural New York, where two parents have been murdered by their 11-year-old son. Much like his work with Cora, Harry will struggle to figure out why the crime was committed, seemingly without a motive.

As he strives to solve the case, Harry will be pulled into a hidden darkness in his hometown, where he’ll be pitted against those who’ll stop at nothing to protect its secrets – and a mysterious woman who proves to be a complicated, enigmatic piece to this haunting puzzle.

New key-art for The Sinner’s second season shows an eerie abandoned car in a forest, and an ominous looking Detective Harry Ambrose.

In the eerie new trailer, Detective Ambrose receives a phone call from a police officer – who appears to know him well – because she is dealing with a difficult crime.

“I’ve just got this case up here. I don’t know what to call it, it’s a double murder,” she tells him over the phone, while small snippets of the crime are played.

“I know you haven’t been back here in a long time, but I read about your case with that woman. I was hoping maybe you could come up here and take a look? The reason is the suspect… he’s young, maybe 11-years-old.”
