When The Crown returns for it’s highly anticipated third season in 2019, the main cast will look entirely different.
To usher in the next phase of Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family’s life, new actors will be replacing the original stars of the show.
Claire Foy and Matt Smith, who played Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip respectively, will be replaced by Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies.
Helena Bonahm Carter will take over as Princess Margaret, following in Vanessa Kirby’s footsteps. While Ben Daniels will star as Margaret’s husband, Antony Armstrong-Jones, who was previously played by Matthew Goode.
In new images released by the streaming service, fans have scored their first look at Helena and Ben in their new roles.
Helena is pictured smoking a cigarette in the role of Princess Margaret, while Ben is shown holding a camera.
“I’m not sure which I’m more terrified about – doing justice to the real Princess Margaret or following in the shoes of Vanessa Kirby,” Helena said in a statement.
“The only thing I can guarantee is that I’ll be shorter than Vanessa.”
Earlier this week, fans were also treated to their first look at Olivia in the role of Queen Elizabeth II.
Season 3 of The Crown will premiere on Netflix in 2019.
